Position Overview

As a Low Voltage Systems Technician you will provide service and installation of access control and video surveillance systems, intrusion detection systems and other specialized control technologies to ACI customers. You may have an opportunity to learn new technology that is only available with these customers. This position will also require you best to become proficient with our various technologies.  Training will be provided.


Key Accountabilities

Maintain a constant focus on two things – exceeding customers’ expectations and ensuring safety in all we do.

Servicing of CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and many other low voltage systems.

Programming, commissioning and troubleshooting of these systems at customer locations, documenting service performed, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, Recommending upgrade paths to Customers as necessary

Installation and repair of following:

Analog, HD and IP based video surveillance systems including DVR/NVR programming.

Electric door strikes, mag-locks, card readers, request to exit buttons and access control panels

Paging Systems

Residential and Commercial Security Systems


Cabling systems such as are found in our technology sector. (Category 5/6, multi conductor, fiber and termination systems)

Cable pathways including conduit installation and fire stop systems

 

Required Skills and Experience

Must have 1-3 years commissioning of Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection, CCTV systems, cable installation and termination, Paging Systems

Strong computer software and networking skills

Product knowledge, experience, and or certifications with BRIVO, Eagleeyenetworks, ProWatch, Vista, Prosumer Video recording systems, C-Cure, Lenel, and GE access control system/video systems are preferred

Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed

Flexibility to work the hours of the traditional second and third shifts

Must be able to pass a background check, MVR and pre-employment drug test

Typical physical demands include frequent work on lifts, ladders, and possibly rooftops and other harder-to-access areas. Must be able to see, hear, speak and write English clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or customers; manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing and lifting of objects (typically up to 50-75 lbs.), and operating power tools.
